Why is Morra Mía the Ideal Place to Celebrate Tequila Week?
Tequila, that iconic Mexican drink that has captured taste buds worldwide, has its special day: July 24th.

But we don't just celebrate Tequila Day; we celebrate Tequila Week at Morra Mía from July 18th to 24th! 🎊

Before we dive into the festivities of Tequila Week at Morra Mía, let's explore some fascinating history and trivia about tequila.

Things You Didn't Know About Tequila 🍹

Ancestral Origins: While the modern tequila we know has its roots in the 16th century, its ancestors date back much earlier. Ancient Mexican civilizations already fermented a drink called "agua miel" or "lechugilla" from agave, the plant from which tequila is derived.

The Town of Tequila: This drink's name comes from the town of Tequila, located in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. In this region, the distillation of blue agave juice began, giving rise to the tequila we know today.

Denomination of Origin: Like Champagne in France, tequila has a denomination of origin. It can only be produced in certain regions of Mexico, mainly in Jalisco, and in specific areas of other states like Guanajuato, Michoacán, Nayarit, and Tamaulipas.

Varieties of Tequila: There are several categories of tequila depending on its aging time. Blanco or Plata is the purest and has no aging, Reposado spends at least two months in wooden barrels, Añejo ages for a minimum of one year, and Extra Añejo has a maturation time of at least three years.

Salt and Lime?: Although many associate tequila consumption with salt and lime, experts suggest enjoying a good tequila sip to appreciate its complexity and flavor.
